23 settembre 1991. Esce l’album che cambierà la storia della musica. Non è Blood Sugar Sex Magic dei Red Hot Chili Peppers, che per altro ha dato un bello scossone. Non è neppure Nevermind dei Nirvana, uscito il giorno dopo, il 24. Non è nemmeno Ten dei Pearl Jam, uscito un mese prima il 27 agosto ed erroneamente postdatato come contemporaneo di Nevermind.
Stiamo parlando invece di Screamadelica, dei Primal Scream.
Un album per il quale si sprecano gli aggettivi, che troviamo come fonte di ispirazione trasversale della storia della musica degli ultimi quasi compiuti vent’anni. Il cross-over è svanito, il grunge è morto e nemmeno il rock se la passa molto bene.
Il pop psichedelico invece sembra avere una vena inesauribile. Ve lo dimostreremo attraversando insieme a voi il ventennio trascorso, divertendoci a seguire quel filo conduttore, quel sound stravagante. Per questo motivo abbiamo intitolato questa puntata “popadelica” in onore della musica psichedelica, del pop e del quasi ventenne Screamadelica.

Nor is Nirvana’s Nevermind, released the following day, 24. Nor is it Ten of the Pearl Jam, released a month before Aug. 27 and postdated erroneously as a contemporary of Nevermind.
We are talking instead of Screamadelica of the Primal Scream.
An album for which there are no more adjectives, that we find as a source of inspiration across the history of music almost over the last two decades. The cross-over has vanished, the grunge is dead and even the rock is not going very well.
The psychedelic pop instead seems to have an inexhaustible vein. We will take you through the past two decades, fun to follow that thread, that sound extravagant. That’s why we titled this episode “popadelica”in honor of psychedelia, pop and the almost twenty Screamadelica.
