E’ cronaca di questi giorni la grande morsa del gelo che attanaglia il nostro paese. E noi prendiamo spunto per proporvi questa puntata ricca di novità con l’intento di portare un po’ di calore dentro di voi oppure, nella peggiore delle ipotesi, farvi trascorrere una buona oretta di sound multicolori. La puntata di oggi si chiama The Big Chill, il grande freddo.
Ma il titolo cela anche un retroscena, una sensazione che da qualche tempo ci tiriamo dietro: la musica elettronica sta prendendo il sopravvento, ne abbiamo gia parlato nella puntata dedicata al digitalismo. Quei suoni freddi ed impersonali, generati da software e da computer, stanno scalzando il suono assai piu caldo del classico guitar bass drums. E noi, invano, da alcuni anni aspettiamo un bel disco di sano rock and roll che ci scaldi l’anima. Un blood sugar sex magic, un versus, un rage against the machine, un the colour and the shape, un siamese dream, uno zen arcade.. E dove e’ finito quel bel british pop, caratterizzato da quella texture di chitarre pesanti e quelle voci cosi sfacciate?
In questa puntata vagheremo tra i ghiacci e le abbondanti nevicate alla ricerca del brano che ci scaldi dentro…

I’ts been a long talk these days about the frostbite that has hit our country. This gave us a good spin for this episode full of news with the intent to bring some heat inside of you or, in the worst case, to let you spend a good hour of colorful sound. The episode is called The Big Chill, nothing to do with the movie.
But the title also hides a background, a feeling that for some time we pull back: electronic music is taking over, we have already spoken in the episode dedicated to digitalism. Those sounds cold and impersonal, generated by software and computers, are undermining the warmth of sound of the classic guitar bass drums. And we are still waiting over many years for an album of rock and roll sound that warms the soul. A record like blood sugar sex magic, versus, rage against the machine, the color and the shape, Siamese Dream, zen arcade .. And what about that beautiful british pop, characterized by the texture of heavy guitars and voices?
